The European Parliament’s theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is “Women’s economic empowerment”. The European Parliament published a leaflet entitled “Women’s economic empowerment: let’s act together” with an accompanying fact sheet compilation. Furthermore, the European Parliament has issued a briefing on young women’s unemployment in the EU.

In the Parliament’s visitor centre, an exhibition entitled “Eleven Women in War” by Nick Danziger opens on 7 March and remains accessible until 14 May. On 8 March, there will be a live session on Facebook during which Spanish Green MEP Ernest Urtasun, author of a report on equality which will soon be debated and voted on, answers questions.
