Kazakhstan: Invitation to International Round Table and KTUESW’s XIV Congress

In the run up to the XIV Congress of the Kazakhstan Trade Union of Education and Science Workers (KTUESW) an International Round Table “Education Trade Unions: Problems, Searching, Solutions” is to be held on 8 October 2019 in Nursultan (Astana), Kazakhstan. It is expected that more than two hundred representatives from republican trade union associations, KTUESW member organisations, ETUCE sister organisations, government authorities’ representatives as well as mass media representatives are to take part in the event.

The main focus of the Round Table is to further consider existing challenges in education, trade union movement, social dialogue, including involvement of education trade unions in addressing challenges that exist in education system. The international pre-event will contribute to the XIV Congress and lay foundation for dynamic discussions on 9 October 2019.

The Kazakhstan Trade Union of Education and Science Workers was founded in 1924. At present the union unites education employees at all levels and protects labour, socioeconomic rights and professional interests of its affiliates. This year our organisation will celebrate the 95th anniversary of its foundation, thus, our sister organisations across Europe are warmly invited to join us in these specials dates” stated Maira Amantayeva, President of the KTUESW.
