Trust the Teachers is the foundation of all our work. It reflects a simple principle: education systems are stronger, fairer and more effective when teachers are trusted, respected and involved in decision‑making.

Across Europe, teachers are too often asked to implement policies they had no role in shaping. This campaign aims to change that by promoting professional autonomy, strong social dialogue and meaningful participation of the profession at all levels.

This is a collective effort. By standing together and building on our shared experience, we can ensure that teachers’ voices are recognised and that education policies across Europe are shaped with the profession, not without it.

These decisions will directly affect classrooms, teachers’ workload and professional autonomy, whether we are involved or not. This campaign is about making sure that education is not an afterthought, and that teachers are part of the decisions from the start.

ETUCE's Teachers Agenda

Decisions taken at European level increasingly shape education systems, from funding priorities to reforms that directly affect classrooms and the teaching profession. The EU Teachers' Agenda is an opportunity to ensure that teaching is recognised as a profession and that teachers are fully involved in shaping the policies that affect their work. Teachers already have a representative voice at European level through ETUCE.
