ETUCE is deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place at Risbergska School in Örebro. On behalf of the European education community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the injured, and everyone affected by this horrific incident.

Our thoughts are with the teachers, staff, and students who have experienced this trauma and will carry its impact with them for a long time. In this incredibly difficult time, we stand in solidarity with all those affected.

We recognise the resilience and dedication of the teachers who, despite their own grief and uncertainty, continue to provide support and security to their students. Their strength and compassion in the face of such tragedy are truly commendable.

ETUCE reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that schools remain safe and supportive environments for all. We stand ready to support our member organisations in Sweden and the broader education community as they navigate this painful moment and work towards healing and recovery.

With deepest sympathy and solidarity,

ETUCE – European Trade Union Committee for Education
