SIRIUS publishes handbook of study visits
The SIRIUS Network, a migrant education organisation of which ETUCE is a member, has published “A Synthesis of Good Practices in Teachers’ Professional Development in Primary and Secondary Schools”, which is a handbook of its NAOS Study Visits. The objective of the study visit was for partners to host visits in their home country to one primary school and one secondary school which exemplified good practice in teacher professionalisation. The study visits were held in Antwerp, Patras, Zagreb, Nicosia, Fredrikstad, Tartu, Vilnius, Porto, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The handbook also includes case studies from the UK, Latvia and Germany and focused on five specific areas: school-community relationships, pedagogy, social psychology, language and parental involvement. A summary of each area is included in the report alongside the findings from each of the study visits alongside the interview questionnaire used on all of the visits.
