Research & Mapping 

A comprehensive desk research and a literature review to understand the existing policies, regulatory frameworks, and current AI practices in education.  Besides, an online survey will be conducted among ETUCE member organisations to gather detailed insights into the involvement of education trade unions in AI policy design, implementation, and monitoring at the national level.   

Mid-term Conference (7-8 October 2025, Copenhagen) 


A critical platform for sharing the initial findings from the research activities and identifying the training needs of education trade unions for collective bargaining and advocacy regarding AI in education. Key areas of focus will include the regulatory landscape, existing collective agreements, and the protection of education workers in relation to AI. A dedicated session will discuss the impact of AI on occupational health and safety, in line with ETUCE’s partnership in the EU-OSHA’s campaign on Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age. The conference will also coincide with Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, offering an opportunity to engage with EU policymakers for mutual dialogue and collaboration. 

Thematic Training Workshops (2026) 

Two thematic training workshops focus on building the capacity of education trade unions in collective bargaining and advocacy related to AI in education. The workshops include interactive group activities and digital tools to foster mutual learning and provide practical skills necessary for unions to address the challenges arising from AI in education. 

Final Dissemination Conference 

The final dissemination conference will take place at the end of the project and will serve to share the project’s results, disseminate best practices, and foster continued collaboration among education trade unions.   

Policy outcome: Guide for Education Trade Unions 

Based on the outcomes of the mid-term conference and the thematic training workshops, a comprehensive Guide for Education Trade Unions will be developed by the end of the project. This guide will serve as a reference tool for unions, providing guidance on collective bargaining and advocacy strategies specific to AI-related issues in education. It will help ensure the sustainability of the project’s impact and facilitate knowledge transfer beyond the project’s duration. 

ETUCE Digi&AI Platform 

A virtual hub for information exchange, mutual learning, and continuous engagement among education trade unions. It supports ongoing discussions, resource sharing, and collaborative efforts among unions across Europe.
